game-changing wings

Football games are fun and all, but the real reason I enjoy them so much is because of the food. And I know I’m not alone when I say the game-day snack I look forward to the most are wings. I’ve definitely had my fair share of wings around the city, see my article on CBS New York. But to this day I’ve never had better wings than I have at International Wings Factory.
The International Wings Factory is like New York City in that it’s a giant melting pot of wings from every culture. It’s the only place I’ve found of that nature and the only place that truly perfects each and every diverse flavor, including the traditional buffalo. I feel a need to scream it from the rooftops, but I’ll spare my neighbors and just virtually scream it out here.
Despite my self-proclaimed “foodie” status, I found myself slightly uneasy to go against my typical medium spiced buffalo wing order, and try out some of their more eccentric flavors like Vietnamese Chili Mango, Mexy-Q, and Spicy Thai with Basil. But Chef Deepak was able to capture each unique culture in one mouthwatering bite, so much that I left feeling like my palate had just traveled around the world. The cherry on top is their dipping sauces, offering a creamy cilantro (most popular), jalopeno ranch, blue cheese and chipotle mayo.
Chef Deepak doesn’t even stop with wings. His menu includes clever sandwich, fries and even dessert combinations. Among my personal personal favorites are the Buffalo BCT Sandwich with bacon, cucumber, tomato, buffalo chicken and ranch and the Crispy Tilapia with tilapia, pepper jack cheese, greens, tomato and chipotle mayo. Even the fries at IWF are multi-cultural, offering seasoning flavors such as Indian masala, southwestern, spicy garlic, and pepper parmesan. The last time I went there, he had me try out his new dessert, which was a panko and cinnamon sugar crusted BROWNIE with berry compote. Have you ever heard of anything like that? Is your mouth watering yet?
International Wings Factory holds a small space in the Upper East side that caters mostly to pick-up, carry-out, and delivery orders. Believe me when I say, if they don’t deliver to your area, it is one hundred and ten percent worth the trek. Your taste buds and friends will thank you, and like with me, your wing experience will change forever.
